Documentation and forms for National Awards
This page provides the documentation and forms for a flotilla to apply for a number of
awards at the national level.
Flotilla of the Year
The Flotilla of the year award is given each year by Boat/U.S. It is given to the best
flotilla in the Nation and caps a process that evaluates achievements in the areas of membership growth and training,
operational support of U.S. Coast Guard missions, vessel safety check activity, public education, and community awareness of
the Auxiliary’s role.
One flotilla per year can be nominated from each District, with the recommendation of the District Commodore. Submit forms through chain of
leadership and management by May 31 reflecting information in AUXDATA for the previous calendar year. The award uses a
calculated point system. Key statistics for the calculations are total membership at the beginning and end of the
previous calendar year, and stats on VSC, PE classes, MT classes, Operations missions, and public Affairs missions for the
previous year.

National Boating Federation PE Award
The National Boating Federation presents an award for Public education each year.
One flotilla per year can be nominated from each District, with the recommendation of the District Commodore. Submit forms through chain of
leadership and management by May 31 reflecting information in AUXDATA for the previous calendar year. Key statistics for
the award are total membership, number of Instructors, and number and type of Public Education classes taught by the Flotilla.

Marine Retailers Association Award for Vessel Safety Checks and Marine
Dealer Visits
The Marine Retailers Association award is for our Vessel Safety check and Marine Dealer visit programs.
It uses data from the 2 prior years to calculate the award winner.
One flotilla per year from each District can be nominated, with the recommendation of the District Commodore. Submit forms through chain of
leadership and management by May 31 reflecting information in AUXDATA for the previous 2 calendar years. A calculated
point system is used. Key statistics for this award are number of VSCs for the prior 2 years, number of AX, BQ and IQ
members in the prior year, number of vessel examiners and program visitors in the prior year, number of vessel examiners doing
over 35 VSCs, and number of program visitors with over 20 visits in the prior year.
